In the fashion world, the word "sustainability" is widely used, but rarely quantified. Recently, we decided to take a concrete step in that direction, calculating the life cycle analysis (LCA) of our products.
Today, we want to share with you the results obtained in this first phase of implementing the calculation of the footprint of Baccus shirts and explain what these numbers mean for you and for the environment.

Less pollution in most shirts sold by BACCUS. A commitment, not just a number. The data is clear: BACCUS shirts have a smaller footprint than average when compared to imported items (10.9 kg CO2), a value that is 12% below the global average for the category.
But where does this value come from? To be truly honest, we need to look at the entire journey of the garment, from the cotton seed to the moment you decide to stop using it.
Thanks to Zero Pact 's analysis, we were able to identify exactly where the impact occurs:
- Manufacturing (33.8%): This is the phase where we transform raw materials into fashion. The fact that we are below average is due to the choice of partners close to consumers and optimized processes, for example in terms of energy consumption.
- Distribution (4.5%): keeping this number low is a logistical challenge that we embrace so that the item reaches you with the shortest possible distance.
- Raw materials and packaging (6.9% total): where minimalism and the conscious choice of materials make all the difference.
Perhaps the most surprising fact is this: more than half of a garment's carbon footprint occurs after it leaves the store. Frequent washing , dryer use , and how we dispose of the garment in the future account for 54.8% of the total impact . This is actually good news.
This means that the consumer has the power to make this shirt even more eco-friendly. Washing it at lower temperatures and caring for the garment so that it lasts for years are the greatest acts of sustainability we can take.
Measuring carbon footprint isn't about being perfect, it's about being conscious. Knowing that we are 12% below average , we don't stand still; we use this data as a starting point to lower that number even further in future collections.
Choosing a Baccus piece at El Corte Inglés is now more than a style decision. It's an informed and conscious choice.
